What is Meditation?
Meditation is concisely paying attention in a particular way. It's the awareness that
emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment. Our human
mind can be very busy & through learning the skills of concentration & mindfulness
we start to understand the mind and learn how to soften and slow down our
thoughts. Meditation is concisely paying attention with awareness, shifting your
attention from the mode of doing to just being.

Why Should You Practice Meditation?
Classes in meditation should be led by a certified meditation teacher. The company of others and the guidance of a teacher can make meditation sessions far more beneficial than trying to meditate on your own at home, even if you are new to it and find them scary. You may be asked to do a walking meditation or sit straight on the floor, in a chair, or even lie down comfortably on a mat, depending on the sort of meditation. There is no correct way to position yourself; you may do whatever seems secure and safe to you. Some classes will have quiet music and, while others may solely feature the sound of the teacher's voice.
At Sala Meditation Newcastle awareness is a skill that is developed through weekly meditation classes. It is the consciousness that develops through time as a result of our persistent practise. By releasing obstructed emotions and obstructed thoughts, meditation aids in healing. You can develop your awareness of the present moment through meditation, just focusing on your breathing. By triggering diaphragmatic breathing, which improves the flow of oxygen throughout the body, meditation helps the body enter a deeper state of rest and relaxation. Your body's flow of oxygen-rich red blood cells has now risen, which reduces the release of cortisol and adrenaline and encourages physical and mental relaxation.
Those who want to gain more self-assurance, control their emotions, learn to appreciate downtime without feeling guilty, quit appeasing others, finally be ready to let go of overthinking, and comprehend the science behind and advantages of slowing down may consider meditation.

Breath Awareness

Breath awareness meditation is a form of meditation that involves focusing on the breath as a means of cultivating mindfulness and relaxation.
During breath awareness meditation, the meditator focuses on the sensations of the breath as it moves in and out of the body, observing the flow of air as it passes through the nostrils, mouth, and chest.
The goal of breath awareness meditation is to cultivate a sense of mindfulness and present-moment awareness by focusing on the breath. As thoughts, emotions, or distractions arise, the meditator gently redirects their attention back to the breath, allowing themselves to remain fully present in the moment.
Breath awareness meditation can be practiced in a variety of ways, from simply sitting quietly and focusing on the breath to following a guided meditation or using a specific breathing technique.
Some people find it helpful to count their breaths, while others simply observe the sensations of the breath without judgment.
Overall, breath awareness meditation is a valuable tool for cultivating mindfulness, reducing stress and anxiety, and promoting overall physical and mental well-being. With regular practice, it can help develop greater self-awareness and a sense of inner calm and clarity.
